Forest Cuckoo Bee, Four-Coloured Cuckoo Bee

Taken on 30th June 2008, Lincoln UK. A very wet male next to a pond, the tail end with brown hairs turns downwards. This parasitises nests mainly of B. pratorum.

Cuckoo bees have no pollen baskets on their hind legs as they don't build their own nests.

Males have a yellow band at the top of the torax, but may or may not have the band on the first abdominal segment.
