Taken on 13th May 2008, Lincoln UK. They come in a dark as well as reddish colour.

Length 4.5-6mm, wing length 5-7.5mm. Larvae feed on decomposting organic matter, adults can be seen all year but more so in spring.

This was inside on a cupboard door (in my kitchen!), they often found on windows as they are attracted to light.
