A very small ladybird at 3-4.5mm, some less than 2.5mm, this one was tiny! Each elytron has 11 well defined black spots, more rarely 10.

Taken on 2nd June 2008, Lincoln UK. It was on a leaf of Hosta 'Fire & Ice'. The legs are generally dark yellow with black outer edging, on this beetle they show more black.

Taken on 8th September 2008. They feed on powdery mildew, this was on Thalictrum aquilegifolium.

It seems the 11th spot is on the bottom edge of the wing case, or elytron (plural elytra). It almost looks fused to another spot, although fusion is said to be rare.
