Gulf Fritillary butterfly just emerging from it's Chrysalis. Chrysalis looks like a dried / dead leaf for camouflage. They are very hard to spot when attached to a bush or tree limb.

They are not picky!! They will attach to anything. They look like tiny sleeping bats.
