It looks like this Forktailed Bush Katydid (Scudderia furcata) nymph is enjoying "smelling" the 'Zowie Yellow Flame' zinnia (Zinnia elegans) flower.

A view of the Forktailed Bush Katydid (Scudderia furcata) nymph showing its dorsal markings and oval tympanums or tympanic organs located on each foreleg with which they hear. If you look closely, you can see the adhesive pads on the bottoms of the 2 feet closest to the forefront of the photo. These insects shake and lick dirt off of the pads very frequently to keep them clean.
