This moth larva feeds on Conoclinium colestinium or greigii flowers and immature seeds. The smooth caterpillar starts out tan and then ages to brownish green with a prominent lengthwise stripe.
They seem to eat only the petals, and they are small (15 cm). They hide by clinging lengthwise to the branchlets of the flower heads.
