Wing span: 1 3/8 - 1 3/4 inches (3.6 - 4.0 cm).
Identification: Wing fringes pink. Male upperside yellow-orange to greenish or white. Female greenish yellow to white. Both males and females with narrow black borders edged inwardly by a series of pale green patches. Black scaling on wing especially in females. Hindwing below dusky green with cell spot's pink edging smeared outwardarly. Accessory spot often present.
Flight: One flight July to early August.
Caterpillar hosts: Unknown.
Habitat: Arctic tundra.
Range: Holoarctic. Northern Alaska eastward across the north of the Northwest Territories and the northern Canadian islands. Reaching into far northern Manitoba.
