The clover root beetle was first found in Europe. It has since spread to North America, and was discovered in New Zealand in 1996. A parasitic wasp from Ireland was introduced to control it. Adult weevils feed on the clover leaf, while the larvae live on the root system of the clover plant. They destroy a big percentage of rich pasture.
