Found through most of Eastern North America, from Ontario to Texas, and to the Atlantic coast.
The Red Speckled Dart Moth has a habitat of moist woodlands and damp meadows. The larvae feed om Maple, Birch, Willow and Chokecherry. They also like Dandelions.
There is usually only one generation per year, and the adults are attracted to lights at night.
