Term plumosus refers to the fuzzy antenna in males. My pic must be of a female. An annoying bug for sure as they swarm in the thousands. Less prevalent during cool/cold season times of year.

They don't bite which is why I didn't say negative, but they swarm in the thousands which can be very annoying.
