Did not mind the ladybugs in the house in the spring and fall, because I knew they would be beneficial to the garden. The ladybugs have now been replaced by this stinkbug, and we are finding them in our home throughout the winter. As the weather warms, they become more numerous. To my knowledge, they have no beneficial behaviour except keeping you busy chasing them when you have nothing better to do.

This bug is now invasive in south central Virginia. They behave like ladybugs (by coming in the house in droves). A recent article in our local paper advises not to dispose of the ones you kill in your trash, or leave them in vaccuum bags, as their carcasses attract other obnoxious critters. Yuk!
