Beautiful, large (I'd say at least 3 inches long) fat moth. Appears to have just emerged from the ground right next to my home's foundation.

We do not have any of the host plants, but do have a large butterfly garden with many nectar plants.

I have found through some research that the catterpiller for this moth burrows underground after eating "Christmas Bush", only to emerge after it pupates...

I have none of this anywhere around me...this fellow must have been attracted to the butterfly nectar plants in my yard.
